The Exporter Football program will be partnering with the La Marque Cougar Football program at the scrimmage this Friday (8/13) to raise funds for the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) Benevolence Fund.
The THSCA Benevolence Fund exists to provide financial aid for permanent injury as well as memorial benefits for players and coaches. Recently, the Fund provided $3,000 in aid to our own Coach Kody Smith while he was fighting for his life - and, thus, the Fund is near and dear to our hearts.
Those attending the scrimmage will have the opportunity to make a donation on-site OR anyone can choose to download the form and make a donation directly to the Texas High School Coaches Education Foundation that runs the Benevolence Fund.
Created in 2005, the Benevolence Fund has allowed the enhancement of aid for both Permanent Injury and Memorial Benefits candidates. The fund permits the association to provide aid in hardship cases that extend beyond those covered by the current Permanent Injury and Memorial Benefit policies. Since 2005, this fund has afforded the opportunity to provide over $550,000.00 in financial assistance.
